Here you will find information about the structure of the medicine and dentistry programs at JGU. Additionally, you can learn how to apply; this information includes the Admission Requirements (Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung), application procedures, and also the application for a probationary period of study for professionally qualified person without an A-Level equivalent (Abitur).
It is possible to begin studying in both winter and summer semesters.


Every semester, approximately 185 applicants are matriculated in the human medicine program, and about 50 are admitted to the dentistry program.


The courses for both programs are held in German! Prospective students whose mother tongue is not German must provide proof of adequate language skills.

Here you will also find information on how to apply for a place at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, including details on how to apply for a place at university through the Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung (Trust for Admission to Higher Education) or as an applicant with a vocational qualification but without a standard university entrance qualification (Abitur). Students begin their studies in Mainz either in the summer or winter semester. Each semester, approximately 225 applicants are enrolled in the first semester of the degree course in medicine and approximately 50 in the first semester of the dentistry degree program.
