The Science Management System (WiMS)

The Science Management System (WiMS) of the University Medical Center Mainz was developed using the research database by the Institute of Medical Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Informatics (IMBEI) on behalf of the Chief Scientific Officer of the University Medical Center Mainz.

Currently, the following modules are managed through the WiMS:
Research

  • early-career researchers
  • Learning and Teaching
  • Organization
  • Reporting system
  • Budget management

The WiMS has been in use at the Faculty of Medicine since 2007. Since 2004, over 300 registered users have entered their complete research activities. The relevant data is regularly transferred into the Rhineland-Palatinate research database.

The system has enabled more efficient handling of the extensive processes and tasks relating to the administration of the faculty.
