Committee for Teaching

The Committee for Teaching is one of four committees, alongside the Committee for Research Support, the Committee for Budgetary Matters and Structural Planning, and the Committee for the Advancement of Early-Career Researchers, that were established by the Faculty Council of the University Medical Center Mainz. The Committee for Teaching discusses basic structural and organizational issues concerning the degree courses in medicine and dentistry. It also prepares subject-specific Faculty Council resolutions. Additionally, the committee serves as a platform for discussing innovations in the field of learning and teaching.

The aim of the Committee for Teaching is to reform and professionalize medical education in Mainz in a goal-oriented manner. The options to be discussed include revising the study regulations for medicine and dentistry, introducing a comprehensive quality assurance system for teaching, and establishing criteria for the performance-oriented allocation of funds.
