There are various student groups at the University Medical Center of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. The student councils, which represent the interests of the students, are elected each semester by all students at a general assembly. Another student group is the
Mainzer+:-)SkillsLab, a self-study lab run by students. Students can practice hands-on medical skills here both autonomously and through courses organized by the lab.
The role of student councils is to represent the interests of students studying particular subjects at a university. Contact information for specific student councils:

The Mainzer Skills Lab was established in 2003 to meet the needs of students who want to practice more hands-on skills. A self-study center, the Skills Lab is run independently by students in the clinical semesters of their courses. It offers courses (such as suturing courses, sonography courses) and allows students to practice using its own teaching materials and equipment. You can find more information on the available courses
