The central goal of the Integrated Research and Treatment Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis is to establish a new academic health care structure that comprises experimental and patient-oriented research in the fields of thrombosis and hemostasis and centralizes patient care in an evidence-based treatment center.

In order to further develop the growing interdisciplinary oriented tumor medicine in the areas of basic research, translational research, diagnostics, and therapy, and to optimize medical care in patients with tumor diseases, the University Medical Center Mainz established the "University Center for Tumor Illnesses Mainz (UCT).
The UCT combines and leads comprehensive knowledge in the different fields of oncologic pathologies. Furthermore, cooperation of all the medical, nursing, and welfare of oncology patients is supported. The UCT Mainz aims at being a comprehensive cancer Center.
