Information for Prospective Students

The Internet-sides from studying & teaching (Studium & Lehre) were translated from the German sides. If there are any discrepances between the German and English version, the German version is valid!

Here you will find information about the structure of medicine and dentistry studies. In addition, you can also find out how to apply for a place at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (JGU); included in this information are the ‘Foundation for Admission' (Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung) application procedures, but also the application for a probationary period of study for ‘professionally qualified person without an A-Level-Equivalent’ (Abitur).
It is possible to commence your studies in Mainz in the summer or winter semesters.
Every semester, about 185 university place applicants are matriculated into the human medicine degree program and about 50 applicants into the first semester of the dentistry degree program.

The study courses human medicine and dentistry are held in German.
Prospective students whose mother tongue is not German have to furnish proof of adequate knowledge of the German language.
